The Allard Pierson (伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Amsterdam) is conducting research into the provenance history of the archeological collections over the period 2023-2027. There is little information available on the provenance of many of these approximately 20,000 artefacts from around the 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏iterranean, Western Asia and Northern Africa. The Allard Pierson intends to investigate these gaps, gather as much information on the items as possible and make it available to the public, taking responsibility for unveiling and combatting the ongoing illicit trade in antiquities. Crucially, this also means to actively participate in the societal debate on heritage ownership, both in the Netherlands and in the source countries of the collection.
