Die ?ffentliche Wahrnehmung der Wissenschaft wird dadurch gepr?gt, über welche Themen gesprochen wird. Dies kann die Art und Weise beeinflussen, wie wissenschaftliche Themen verstanden und diskutiert werden und welche Bedeutung wir ihnen beimessen. Genauso wichtig ist, wer über diese Themen spricht und wie diese Sprecher*innen repr?sentiert werden.

Merryn McKinnon, Associate Professor von der Australian National 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏, widmet sich diesem Thema in einem Brown Bag Lunch am 21.05.2025 (Uhrzeit: 13:15-14:00; Raum: D 3065). Darin stellt sie die Ergebnisse einer Reihe von Studien vor, die sich mit K?ngurus, Journalist*innen und Vorbildern befassen und zeigen, wie wichtig die Repr?sentation von Expert*innen für die Wissenschaftskommunikation ist.

Darüber hinaus wird Frau McKinnon am 23.05.2025 (Uhrzeit: 10:00-16:00; Raum: D 2126) einen Workshop anbieten, der sich mit grundlegenden F?higkeiten der Wissenschaftskommunikation besch?ftigt. Die gezeigten F?higkeiten und Techniken sollen den Teilnehmer*innen helfen, die wichtigsten Informationen ihrer wissenschaftlichen Arbeit zu identifizieren und ihre schriftliche, mündliche und visuelle Kommunikation darüber zu verbessern. Researching representation in science communication

The public perception of science is characterised by which topics are discussed. This can influence the way in which scientific topics are understood and discussed and the importance attached to them. Just as important is who is talking about these topics and how they are represented.

Merryn McKinnon, Associate Professor at the Australian National 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏, will address this topic in a Brown Bag Lunch on 21 May 2025 (time: 13:15-14:00; room: D 3065). She will present the results of a series of studies on kangaroos, journalists and role models and show how important the representation of experts is for science communication.

In addition, Ms McKinnon will offer a workshop on 23 May 2025 (time: 10:00-16:00; room: D 2126) that will focus on essential science communication skills. The skills and techniques demonstrated will help participants identify the most important information in their scientific work and improve their written, oral and visual communication of it.
