The book provides support for effective learning (§ 1) and for the exam (§ 2). All legal work requires knowledge of legal argumentation (§ 3) and a confident legal style (§ 4). Academic work requires an experienced handling of legal research possibilities, i.e. working in the library and with the internet (§ 5) as well as mastery of the relevant citation rules (§ 6). If time is limited, term papers, seminar papers and student research projects require their own techniques, such as concretising the research question (§ 7). Special requirements apply to the preparation of a dissertation (§ 8). Scientific papers often include a lecture or oral examination at the end (§ 9). More in-depth cases round off the work (§ 10).
