The 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏ical Faculty of the 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Augsburg, founded in 2016, is a project with great appeal in the region and beyond. Based on the existing strengths of the university, research focuses on the two main areas of 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏ical Information Sciences and Environmental Health Sciences, which give new impetus to classical medical research. The model course integrates pre-clinical and clinical content and places special emphasis on the students’ academic education.

The new interdisciplinary team ‘Ethics in 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏icine’, directed by Prof. Dr. med. Verina Wild, researches and teaches in the areas of clinical ethics, public health ethics, global health ethics, ethics of data-driven technologies, and history of medicine.

Research Assistant/Associate (m/f/d)

in 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏ical Ethics

The salary is based on remuneration group TV-L E13 of the pay scale for the German public sector; salary scale is depending on qualifications. The initial contract will run for three years (with options for extension). The position is available as of the next possible date (part-time possible). It is open to candidates at various stages of career, both candidates with and without a PhD are welcome to apply.

We look for highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates who would like to contribute building and strengthening the international reputation of our new team.

Your future tasks include:

• Conduct research in any area of medical ethics/bioethics, preferrably in the fields of data-driven healthcare (genomics, AI, digital health, big data)
• Teach medical ethics to medical students, if applicable also history and theory of medicine (some of the teaching will be in German)
• Contribute to the international profile and reputation of the team
• Develop scientific collaborations and cooperations within the Faculty of 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏icine and beyond, at a national and international level.
• Actively assist and participate in the wider academic activities of the team ‘Ethics in 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏icine‘, including participating in regular research seminars and team meetings, organizing workshop/conferences, developing ideas for generating third-party funds, supporting research and teaching, supervising students etc.
• ?Assist in mentoring and supervising students

Requirements for employment are:

• A completed university degree or doctorate in a relevant field of study
• A high degree of teamwork, communication skills and social competence, ability to work under pressure and flexibility as well as independence in planning and implementing tasks
• High level of commitment and intrinsic motivation
• Fluency in written and spoken English, German language will be necessary for teaching some of the classes
• Advantages are: international profile, experience in attracting external funding, relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals in medical, bio-ethics and/or public health ethics, experience in university teaching, fluency in written and spoken German language.
