The conferences organized by the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) are major events that bring together environmental economists from all around world. This year, at the 30th anniversary conference, which took place June 16-19 in Bergen, Norway, the Environmental Economics group of the 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Augsburg was represented by Florian Diekert and Patrick Hoffmann. Both had the opportunity to present work from the joint research project “Normative Appeals and Asymmetric Strategy Spaces in Group Cooperation”.

During the session on “Pro-environmental behavior and collective action”, Florian Diekert presented the paper “Groups decide more effectively when group identity is more salient”, which studies how groups make decisions under different group identities. In a short egg-timer session, Patrick Hoffmann showcased the underlying experiment and the effects of combining giving and taking in a social dilemma on cooperation, which is the analysis from the joint paper “The effect of opposing action spaces on group cooperation”.

Despite relatively cold temperatures and a lot of rain, the conference was a great success with engaging exchanges about relevant research topics in environmental and resource economics, useful feedback for current work, and new connections for future collaboration.
