We are proud to announce that Manuel C. Kathan, Raphaela Roeder, and Sebastian Utz from our Centre of Climate Resilience, together with Martin Nerlinger from the 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of St. Gallen, have received the Climate Finance Award, presented by Liechtenstein Life Assurance AG and the 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Liechtenstein, at the Liechtenstein Workshop of Sustainable Finance. Their paper, “How Does Competition Affect Firms’ Carbon Performance? Firm-Level Evidence from Tariff Cuts,” was recognized for its outstanding impact to the field of sustainable finance.

Their research provides compelling evidence that increased competition through tariff cuts drives firms to reduce their carbon intensities across different scopes, showing that market dynamics can play a pivotal role in advancing global climate targets.

This achievement underscores our institution’s strong commitment to leadership in sustainability, impactful research, and addressing the global climate challenge.
