Call for Applications: Summer Symposium ‘Connection.Points. Intertwined and interconnected’
From 15-18 July 2025, the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences is organising a summer symposium as part of the European graduate school network ‘Euro.Cultural.Connect’ on the topic of ‘Connection.Points. Intertwined and interconnected’.
In addition to keynotes and workshops by and with Prof. Reine Meylaerts (KU Leuven, Belgium), Prof. Reinhard Hennig (Agder 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏, Norway), Prof. Burcu Dogramaci (LMU Munich) and Dr Hanne De Jaeghar (伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Sussex, UK), early career researchers will have the opportunity to present their research contributions on the topic and discuss them with international experts, renowned researchers and other early career researchers and develop new ideas in an interdisciplinary network.
The call is primarily aimed at postdocs and advanced doctoral candidates. Places are limited!
We ask for proposals for contributions from committed and outstanding young researchers by 15 March 2025 to: theresia.dingelmaier@ggs.uni-augsburg.de. Further information can be found in the CfP.

Impulse coference 2023 Augsburg Taking the Bull by the Horns: Humanities and Social Science Perspectives on the Idea of Europe

From 3 to 5 November, the impulse conference “Taking the Bull by the Horns: Humanities and Social Science Perspectives on the Idea of Europe” took place at the 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Augsburg, organized by the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The conference led to the establishment of a European network for cultural studies, which will regularly organize international conferences and summer schools for young researchers.

The following five European universities are currently involved in this network:

- 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Santiago de Compostela (International Doctoral School EDIUS, Prof. Maria Jose Lopez Couso, Maria Lopez Gimenez)
- 伟德国际_伟德国际1946$娱乐app游戏 of Verona (PhD program 'Philology, Literature and Performance Studies', Prof. Massimo Natale, Prof. Fabio Forner)
At the conference in November, doctoral students from the five participating European universities discussed their research projects and possible collaborations after an inspiring keynote speech by author Lena Gorelik.
